The Gleason is supported by the Friends of Gleason Public Library, the Gleason Public Library Endowment, town and state funds, and public and private grants. Giving to the Friends and the Endowment supports many of the programs and services offered at the Library.
The Friends of Gleason Public Library is a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation made up of volunteers interested in supporting and enhancing the programs, services, and materials available to the community of Carlisle through Gleason Public Library. Programs and services supported by the Friends include: the summer reading program, the Great Pumpkin Spectacle, speakers for all ages and interests, book swaps and sales, and museum passes.
The Gleason Public Library Endowment Fund, a 501(c)(3) charitable trust, manages funds given directly to the Library for large and long term dollar expenditures, items, and programs beyond the means and scope of the Friends of the Gleason Public Library. Some examples of projects supported by the Endowment are the study room, lawn marquee, and staff professional development. The Endowment is currently engaged in a capital campaign for an interior renovation to meet the demands of today’s and tomorrow’s users.
