ur annual summer StoryWalk® combines our love of reading, learning, and the great outdoors! Our StoryWalk® is on display from August 11th through August 26th along our back pathway up to the school. We will feature the biographical picture book Ernő Rubik and His Magic Cube, written by Kerry Aradhya and illustrated by Kara Kramer. “In the hills of Budapest, near the banks of the Danube River, lived a quiet boy named Ernő Rubik. He loved books, art, nature, and—most of all—puzzles. And he grew up to create the most popular puzzle in history. This picture book biography explores the experience and interests that inspired the inventor of the Rubik’s Cube.”
The pages from this award-winning children’s picture book are displayed on 14 stations along the back pathway between the Library and Church Street. Visitors of all ages will enjoy the beauty of the wooded pathway while reading and spending time together. When you have completed the StoryWalk®, please walk back down to the Library and stop by our Children’s desk upstairs to pick up a prize—your own mini Rubik’s Cube. Try your hand with this fun toy. Can you solve the puzzle?
