We are happy to offer book clubs during the school year for children in grades 1-2 and 3-4. Read more below, or call 978-369-4898 and ask for Children’s. The Gleason Kids’ Book Club is open to all first and second graders. The intention of the Gleason Kids Book Club is to foster a love of reading and bring a variety of books to children. This group is designed for first-time book group goers and beginner readers. If a child can read the assigned title on his own, they should be encouraged to do so. If a child is not quite ready or prefers to be read to, parents and caregivers are encouraged to read with or to their children.
Each month, participants will meet in person to discuss the selected title, enjoy a snack and complete a small craft or play a game connected with that month’s book selection. We try to also have a book’s author or illustrator visit with our group over Zoom once per year. Participants will be notified about the next month’s title at the close of each book club meeting. The selected title will held on reserve at the circulation desk for checkout. Caregivers must remain in the library during this program.

You need only register once to join the book club for the entire year. If the book club is full, we encourage participants to sign up for the waitlist.
The Carlisle 3rd and 4th Grade Book Club will be returning this fall at the Gleason Public Library. Books and the accompanying craft will be available at the circulation desk.
