Inscription: "Wrought by Sarah A Hodgman in Carlisle 1825 Aet 12 yrs".

Border: Hem stitched, and diamond satin stitch on all four sides, floral type design around three sides meeting at the top. Cursive and block alphabet with verse and inscription encircled with a vine.

Other: Sampler is contained in a newer wooden frame, under glass.
