Border: A scroll-like border of cross stitch with vines of flowers on three sides. Weeping willows on each side and two columns with urns at the top, encasing the family record of names and dates.

Note that the deaths of family members are stitched in a darker colored thread.

Mary Monroe (Butters) was the mother of Carlisle's first town librarian, Mary Butters Green.
