Information:

"Harpers Ferry 1849", and an eagle above "US" is inscribed on the lockplate. The letter "K" is inscribed on the bottom of the trigger guard, and another "US" is on top of the buttplate. "VP 1845", and an eagle's head is inscribed on top of the barrel.

A "2" or "S" is carved into the wood supporting the barrel. The number "21" is carved into the stock near the top of the buttplate, and a "V" is carved into the cock. Handcarved into the wooden support of the barrel is "WHP". The rest of the hand carving is illegible. It could be: "arcoA1".

"53" and "Round Top" are painted in white on the stock.
