Information:
The wooden handle is covered with leather and a wire grip. The brass pommel guard and cap are unadorned. At the end of the blade by the guard are the letters "C" & "J".

Scabbard: Made of iron. There are two clamps with rings attached.
A white label with black number "54" is affixed.

More information:
"C & J" stands for Clemen & Jung, a German sword/saber company based in Soligen, Prussia. A popular import to state and militia units, this saber was often called "The Wrist Breaker" because of its heaviness.
