<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The 38th Annual Great Pumpkin Spectacle will now be a hybrid in-person and virtual event due to the rain forecasted.<br>There will be no event held in the school parking lot, but we will hold the storytelling program on Zoom, and the award ceremony will be posted on the Library&#8217;s <a href="https://www.facebook.com/gleasonlibrary" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Facebook</a> Page</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>4:30 – 6:00 p.m. Pumpkin Registration</strong> To register, bring your pumpkin into the Children&#8217;s Room between 4:30 and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27. Pumpkins will be judged separately by grade, with three winners in each grade level, K-4. Masks for everyone ages 2 and up are required, and please maintain a social distance of 6 feet between parties.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">This year, we will not have separate categories for pumpkins. There will still be three winners per grade, but instead of having separate categories, all pumpkins in each grade will be judged together. There will also be two &#8220;lucky&#8221; winners, one drawn from lower elementary and one drawn from upper elementary. Those who do not wish their pumpkins to be judged may bring them to a special “display only” table. There will be seventeen (17) winners total.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>6:30 p.m. Spooky Stories with Tony Toledo</strong> <strong>on Zoom</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Join us on Zoom for spooky stories told by storyteller Tony Toledo! We recommend the storytelling event for ages 5 and up due to some scary themes. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We will broadcast our Great Pumpkin Spectacle award ceremony via GPL&#8217;s <a href="https://www.facebook.com/gleasonlibrary" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Facebook</a> page at 7:30PM. </p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We ask that all participants pick up their pumpkin from the Children&#8217;s Room by 9:00 p.m. that evening. We will place the remaining pumpkins on our front steps the next morning for ease of pick up. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Here’s an easy step you can take to help our pollinators (bees, butterflies, moths and hummingbirds) thrive – grow a pollinator-friendly garden!</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Each kit contains:</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a href="https://gleasonlibrary.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/take-make-craft-pollinator-garden-kit/">Register online</a> for a kit and pick it up any time between Friday, May 6th at 10:00 a.m. and Monday, May 9th  at 9:00 p.m. via in-person or curbside pickup. This craft is for ages 4 and up with help from an adult. Take &amp; Make craft kits are made possible by our wonderful <a href="https://gleasonlibrary.org/about/friends-of-gleason/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Friends of the Gleason Public Library</a>.</p>
